So much longing

In her sleepless sister city

where the cool come crossing

to Queens where wonder

is never as it seems.

Hidden oasis stashed

In tinfoil traces

where beards retire

bare bottom objectification

Improving upon the area's uber-success

a few short blocks to and from the train.

The canz recycled

The ladies dismissed

Now gentlemen follow a sweet

afterglow illuminated clearly

by Afton's good show.

Still the delectability

danced on my palate

with character, charisma, and careful preparation

provided in plentiful portions,

though never enough to satisfy when

flavor is balanced so considerately.

Maybe it was the shake stout,

so refined, so inviting, without a hint of thirst,

it summoned me,

and now my lifelong Irish companion

from days of studious portrayal

where chugging by the pint

was a dare not refused,

now bested by a new shake

stout from the newcomer

excellence in service, show, and preparation.

With all things new,

change has arrived,

and now the once hidden gem

of the big apple's eye

shining beacon of nightlife

density overpopulating

with a welcome elegance

throughout the Astorian's play land,

another instant success,

following in the footsteps

of the original neighborhood savior.

Watawa

Watawa Sushi/Japanese Food 33-10 Ditmars Blvd Astoria, NY 11105 United States Few Asian places Avoid confined spaces Can cook cuisine quite carefully to claim as fine dining with the service level we expect provided sans the contempt maintaining relative affordability a menu mouth-watering servings somewhat petite The service, the ambiance, the taste dancing the tango across your tongue, the presentation for Japanese fare well done. Perfect for long romance or a first date, take a tour of the deco before choosing your plate. A zen pool oasis calming the meal I don't ever eat raw fish So that's something to ponder And yet Watawa the first hidden gem to earn two thumbs from me, Experience tranquility while you stay
